25 Weeks Pregnant & Gestational Diabetes

Today I had a 1-hr glucose screening test that is performed at most/all pregnancy check-ups between 24-28 weeks. My blood sugar results came out once again very high and I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes! Since I had this with Brady I have most of the knowledge with how to manage my diet to control this without insulin. GD is where your body isn't able to use the sugar (glucose) in your blood as well as it should, so the level of sugar in your blood becomes higher than normal. When this happens this is not good for the baby or the Mother, therefore a strict low carb/low sugar diet is required.
The GREAT news?
1) Bill committted to doing the diet with me for the next 3 months! Please send me low carb recipes please!
2) The appointment went very well this morning! I've gained 7 lbs in the last 5 weeks (ugh), and am a total of 14-15lbs of weight gain at this point. This is more than when i was with Brady but I have been much more tired vs the pregnancy with Brady. What this means is I've been lazy.
3) Baby's heart beat was a strong 148bpm!!
4) The baby is now a little over 1 lb and my tummy is measuring about 23cm, which is a little small but there are no worries.
5) I'm feeling great -for the most part!
Continue to pray a healthy baby & rest of the pregnancy! We are very excited and now comes the tough thing......picking out a girls & boys name. Hmmmm....
